As is evident from the Table 10 hereinabove, the exports of cotton textiles (including cotton yarn) to quota markets during the year under review, amounted to US$ 1354.85 million, registering a decrease of 6.47% over the previous year as against a growth rate of 7.17% for the year 1998-99 over the year 1997-98. Vis-a-vis this, the exports to non-quota markets amounted to US$ 2292.00 million in the year under review, registering an increase of 15.50% over the previous year 1998-99 as against a decrease of 8.82% in the year 1998-99 over the preceding year 1997-98.
The exports of cotton textiles (including cotton yarn) to the quota markets constituted 37.15% of the total exports, whereas in respect of non-quota markets, it was 62.85% of the total exports.
