As can be seen from the foregoing Table 11, grey fabrics continue to be a major component in the total exports of fabrics, comprising 35.87% and 48.82% in value and quantity respectively, in respect of mill made fabrics. In the case of powerloom sector, the share of grey fabrics in terms of value and quantity was 28.24% and 54.41% respectively. However, the printed fabrics have now emerged as a major contributor in value terms in the powerloom sector, constituting 36.31% (in value) of the total process wise grouping of powerloom fabrics, and relegating the grey fabrics to the 2nd position in value terms.
