Sub: Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS).

1. Co-option of additional banks / financial institutions by Nodal Agencies. Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the nodal agency (NA) for SSI textile industry under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, vide letter dated 18th July, 2001, has co-opted the following two more co-operative banks for SSI textile industry under the TUF Scheme. i) Surat National Co-operative Bank Ltd., Surat ii) Solapur Nagari Audyogik Sahakari Bank Ltd., Solapur

2. Restoration of Cotton Ginning and Pressing Sector under TUFS : Ministry of Textiles, vide letter no.28/12/2001-CT-1 dated 25th July, 2001 informed that the coverage of Cotton Ginning and Pressing Sector has been restored under the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) with immediate effect with the stipulation that a cotton G&P unit will have the option to avail of benefits either under the TUFS or under the Technology Mission on Cotton (TMC) but not both. This may please be brought to the notice of all concerned.
