Sub: Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS).

1. Inclusion of Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) under TUFS:
The Inter Ministerial Steering Committee (IMSC) of TUFS in its meeting held on 13th June, 2001 had approved that “Since the Viscose Filament Yarn (VFY) industry is already covered under TUFS from the inception, the only other cellulosic fibre sector, namely Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) may also be covered under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS).” Accordingly VSF has also been brought under TUFS.
2. Co-option of additional banks / financial institutions by the Nodal Agencies.
(a) Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), the nodal agency (NA) for non-SSI textile industry under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, vide letter dated 27th Sept., 2001, has co-opted the following three more scheduled commercial banks for non-SSI textile industry under the TUF Scheme:
i) Bank of Maharashtra Ltd.
ii) Citi Bank
iii) Syndicate Bank

 (b) Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI), the nodal agency (NA) for jute industry under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, vide letter dated 1st Oct., 2001, has co-opted the Central Bank of India for jute industry under the TUF Scheme.
